How do we stay small and sell big? Simple, years of experience.  Our story dates to 1944 when Merle Jordan founded the Fifth Street Truck Terminal in Sacramento, CA. where he and his crew completed trailer repair work, fabricating, and manufacturing and installation of the first refrigerated bodies in Northern California.  In 1946 Merle acquired the first Thermo King franchise in California, outside of the factory branch in Los Angeles, California. In 1957, after some growth, Merle’s son Monte opened the Reno, Nevada location.

It's a family affair.  Soon after the opening of the Reno location, Merle along with his wife Reba and their other son Mike moved to Reno to operate the Reno location. Merle managed the manufacturing and repair facility while Reba managed the office and Monte continued outside sales.  In 1969 Mike joined the business, expanding parts and sales.

In 1990 business operations moved from a focus on refrigeration to more emphasis on trailer repair, fabrication, and upfitting. It was at this time that we became the company you know today as Jordan’s Truck & Trailer Equipment.

The family succession continues.  In 2008 Mike’s stepdaughter Lynda joined the team.  Beginning in the parts department, Lynda has worked her way through the ranks and is now a co-owner along with Mike.
